Making Your Baby’s Dental Visit Pleasant

Posted .

We understand what it’s like to have a child who’s tired at the dentist’s office. Trust us, we’ve been there, both in our personal lives with our own children and in our professional lives, working with families at our practice. Here are a few recommendations you can implement to make your appointment to our office a smidge easier, for you and for your child.

First, don’t arrange an appointment during your child’s naptime! A shortage of sleep and quiet time will make a lack of sleep for you later as you suffer from a headache resulting from their temper tantrums. You can also assist your child to behave a little better at the dentist’s office by feeding them a small snack before their appointment, but be sure to brush their teeth again if you do so.

Instead of feeding them treats while you wait for your appointment to begin, keep treats until after your appointment. This will help our team look at and clean your child’s pearly whites more rapidly. Finally, breathe! We are used to working with children and know that getting the hang of visiting our office can take some time.
